Grey Market Premium, Explained
The grey market refers to the unofficial market where shares of a company are traded before they are listed on the stock exchange. The Grey Market Premium (GMP) is the extra amount investors are willing to pay for shares in the grey market compared to the issue price. A higher GMP often indicates strong demand for the shares, while a lower or negative GMP can signal weak interest.
