Capacity addition, higher energy sales lift Adani Green Energy Q1FY27 profit by 19% to ₹983 crore

Driven by capacity additions and higher energy sales, Adani Green Energy Ltd, the pure-play renewable energy company of the Adani Group, reported a 19 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated profit at ₹983 crore in the first quarter of FY27.

The company’s total income during the quarter rose 16 per cent year-on-year to ₹4,663 crore, while revenue from power supply increased 29 per cent to ₹4,280 crore. Energy sales grew 30 per cent year-on-year to 13,657 million units, supported by fresh capacity additions and strong operational performance.

Adani Green Energy’s operational renewable energy capacity expanded 27 per cent year-on-year to 20.1 GW in Q1 FY27, compared with 15.8 GW in the same period last year. The company added 4,327 MW of greenfield capacity during the year, including 3,051 MW of solar capacity, 684 MW of wind capacity and 592 MW of solar-wind hybrid capacity. The company reported a 33 per cent year-on-year increase in EBITDA from power supply at ₹4,122 crore during the quarter, with the EBITDA margin improving to 94 per cent. Cash profit rose 28 per cent to ₹2,225 crore.

A significant part of the capacity addition came from Gujarat’s Khavda renewable energy park, where Adani Green Energy is developing the world’s largest renewable energy project. The company’s operational portfolio at Khavda increased to 10.3 GW during the quarter, from 5.6 GW a year ago. During the quarter, the company commissioned 1,972 MWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity at Khavda, taking its total installed BESS capacity to 3,551 MWh. The company said the deployment is among the world’s largest single-location battery storage installations.

Adani Green Energy said it remains on track to add 5GW of renewable energy capacity and more than 10,000 MWh of battery energy storage capacity by FY27. The company is targeting 50 GW of renewable energy capacity, including storage capacity, by 2030.
