TVS Motor reports 65% increase in consolidated PAT in Q1’27, flags commodity price rise

TVS Motor reported a 65 per cent jump in consolidated net profit to ₹1,058 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, 2026 as against ₹643 crore for the corresponding quarter last year, as per its financial statements filed with the exchanges. Consolidated revenue was up 33 per cent ₹16,296 crore as against ₹12,210 crore in the same period last year.
On a standalone basis, the company reported net profit of ₹1,174 crores, a growth of 51 per cent in Q1’27 as against ₹776 crores in Q1’26. The net profit in Q1’FY27 includes fair valuation gain on investments held by the company amounting to ₹150 crores as against fair valuation gain of ₹28 crores during Q1 of last year. The Chennai-based auto major posted its highest ever revenue of ₹13,896 crores on a standalone basis, a growth of 38 per cent as against ₹10,081 crores in the quarter ended June 2025.
The company acknowledged commodity price rise during the quarter and said it has taken measures to mitigate it. Cost of materials consumed increased by 45 per cent y-o-y in Q1FY27, on a standalone basis.
“Commodity prices witnessed a sharp upward trend during the quarter due to global market uncertainties resulting in increased input costs. The company partially mitigated the cost increases through price adjustments and focused cost optimisation initiatives, including scale benefits,” says the statement.
During the quarter, the company made material investments of ₹613 crores in TVS Motor (Singapore) Pte Limited and ₹193 crores in Jana Small Finance Bank Limited, the financial statement said.
The company registered the highest ever quarterly sales in Q1FY27. The overall two and three-wheeler sales grew by 28 per cent at 1.63 million units as against 1.28 million units registered in the quarter ended June 2025. TVS Motor also flagged that it now has more than 1 million EV customers.
Two-wheeler electric vehicles grew by 86 per cent registering sales of 129,940 units in Q1FY27 as against 70,060 units during first quarter of 2025-26.
Three-wheelers sales for the quarter under review grew by 48 per cent to 66,697 units.
International business reported a growth of 33 per cent with sales of 0.47 million units in Q1 2026-27 as against 0.35 million units in the first quarter of 2025-26, says the release.
The company’s board also approved raising of funds through the issuance of Non-Convertible Debentures and/or Commercial Papers and/or availing of other permissible borrowings, up to a sum of ₹1,000 crore.
At the time of filing this report, the company’s share price on the NSE was trading at ₹3,789.90, up by 199.70 (5.56 per cent).
