AI Summary

Mahindra Holidays & Resorts reported a consolidated net loss of ₹8.6 crore in Q1 FY27, a decline from a net profit of ₹7.2 crore in the same period last year, primarily due to expansion costs and weak international operations. Despite a 5% year-on-year revenue growth to ₹740.2 crore driven by domestic business, profitability was hindered by increased expenses and underperformance in Europe. The company is investing in technology and luxury resort expansion while aiming to add approximately 1,000 keys this year, with a long-term target of 10,000 keys by FY30.

Mahindra Holidays & Resorts slipped into loss in Q1 FY 2027 due to expansion related costs and muted international operations. The company posted a consolidated net loss of ₹8.6 crore in Q1 FY27 compared to a net profit of ₹7.2 crore in same period.

Overall revenue grew 5 per cent year on year to ₹740.2 crore led by domestic business.

Mahindra Holidays runs 111 resorts in the country and earns income from membership fees and resort revenue. Improved occupancy, premiumisation and upgrades resulted in 3 per cent revenue growth in its standalone business.

Profitability, however, was impacted by higher expenses and the weak performance of its resort business in Europe. Earnings before interest tax depreciation and amortisation fell 4.8 per cent to ₹153.5 crore on a year on year basis.

Mahindra Holidays said it is making investments in AI, technology, resort expansion and brand marketing. The company is also building luxury resorts under Signature brand.

“We remain focused on enhancing the quality of our resort network through the ongoing transformation of existing resorts and the accelerated rationalisation of select properties during the quarter, based on guest feedback and ratings. While certain inventory addition projects were impacted by supply chain disruptions, material availability challenges and labour shortages, we remain on track to add approximately 1,000 keys during the year and have clear visibility towards achieving our target of 10,000 keys by FY30,” said Manoj Bhat, Managing Director and CEO, Mahindra Holidays
