“Global and Indian brands, including Westside, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, US Polo Assn, Arrow, Flying Machine, Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Peter England, Reebok, American Eagle, Ralph Lauren, Sabyasachi, Tarun Tahiliani, Jaypore, W for Woman, Bewakoof, Dollar, Bodycare, Duke and several others, attracted buyers and retailers,” per a statement issued by the Textiles Ministry on Friday.
More than 30 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) were signed during the event. Andhra Pradesh accounted for proposed investments of ₹4,100 crore, followed by Karnataka (₹2,821 crore), Bihar (₹1,476 crore) and Maharashtra (₹1,095 crore). Textile recycling company RE&UP also announced plans to invest ₹4,800 crore in India.
The event was attended by ministerial delegations from New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Russia, Cambodia and Portugal, besides representatives from the European Union and more than 30 industry delegations from countries including the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, South Korea, the UAE, Australia, France and Germany.
“Bharat Tex 2026 has brought together 1,647 exhibitors, nearly 95,000 business visitors with over 20,000 repeat visits, 11,315 buyers, including 6,090 international buyers, 3,461 delegates and participants from 138 countries, reflecting unprecedented global confidence in India’s rapidly evolving textile ecosystem,” the statement underlined.
Several states, including Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, participated as partner states with dedicated pavilions.
The event also hosted around 100 knowledge sessions involving more than 600 policymakers, industry representatives, academicians and experts, covering subjects such as sustainability, circularity, artificial intelligence, technical textiles and global trade.
A Letter of Intent was signed between the Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF) and Première Vision Paris to promote cooperation on market access, sustainable sourcing, design and buyer-seller engagement between India and the European Union.
The exhibition also featured technical textile innovations, sustainability initiatives, and exposure visits for more than 250 entrepreneurs and weavers from aspirational districts. The International Apparel Federation (IAF) also held its board meeting alongside the event.
