South Korea’s NHIS to invest ₹900 crore in Choice Equity Broking

Choice International Limited on Thursday announced that NH Investment & Securities (NHIS), a South Korean financial institution and subsidiary of NH Financial Group, will invest ₹900 crore in Choice Equity Broking Private Limited (CEBPL), the broking and wealth management arm of Choice.

The investment will be structured through Compulsorily Convertible Preference Shares (CCPS). Proceeds will fund the expansion of Choice’s Margin Trading Facility (MTF) book, technology upgrades, customer acquisition, talent development, and product innovation.

NHIS, founded in 1969 and headquartered in Seoul, reported revenue of approximately KRW 15.36 trillion in FY2025 and holds a market capitalisation of roughly KRW 10.9 trillion as of June 2026. The firm operates over 65 branches globally with a workforce exceeding 3,000 professionals.

Choice International, headquartered in Mumbai, serves over 1.5 million clients through a network of 65,000-plus business associates across broking, wealth management, lending, insurance, and investment banking.

CEBPL has set a target of 5x growth across broking and distribution businesses over the next three years, backed by this capital infusion.

Choice CEO Arun Poddar said the partnership would enhance customer experience and expand access to financial products. NHIS President Shin Jae Wook described the deal as strengthening his firm’s global business portfolio.

The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals.
