Greenply launches ‘Kisan Saathi’ farmer engagement programme
Greenply Industries Ltd has launched Kisan Saathi, a structured farmer engagement programme designed to put expert know-how directly into the hands of the communities it works with.
Through Kisan Saathi, farmers around Greenply’s manufacturing units receive hands-on guidance on which clones and species to plant, fertiliser and soil management, and certification requirements. These are delivered jointly by Greenply’s own field experts and specialist third-party institutes.
A media statement said that the programme is active around Greenply’s plants at Tizit (Nagaland), Vadodara and Rajkot (Gujarat), Sandila (Uttar Pradesh) and Kriparampur (West Bengal), and will extend to the upcoming Semiliguda (Odisha) facility.
It said that Greenply provides quality planting material of various suitable species, including high-yielding clones, and guides farmers on intercropping with locally adopted seasonal agricultural crops to generate additional income during the plantation cycle.
Quoting Sanidhya Mittal, Joint Managing Director of Greenply Industries Ltd, the statement said: “Kisan Saathi reflects a true partnership with farmers around our manufacturing units. Crossing 90 million trees and moving closer to our 100 million goal reflects the trust we’ve built with them, and we remain committed to deepening this collaboration in the years ahead.”
