Meenakshi Sundaram appointed NAARM Director

Raman Meenakshi Sundaram, an agricultural scientist and rice biotechnologist, has assumed charge as the Director of the ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management.

Prior to this appointment, he served as Director of the ICAR-Indian Institute of Rice Research (ICAR-IIRR), Hyderabad, where he guided several research initiatives in rice science.

“With more than two and a half decades of experience in the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) system, Sundaram brings in a combination of scientific excellence, innovation leadership, institutional renewal management, and national-level research coordination, “ a NAARM statement said here on Tuesday.

Sundaram is a Fellow of the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS).

He played a key role in the development of improved Samba Mahsuri.
